Jojo Wollacott qualifies for 2022 World Cup

Town Stopper Off To Qatar

29 March 2022

Swindon Town Goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott will be going to Qatar this winter after helping Ghana to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

On what was an incredible night for the Keeper, Wollacott played a starring role in the Black Stars' 1-1 draw with Nigeria earlier tonight.

Ghana qualified for this year's showcase tournament on away goals, and the Reds will now have a player represent them at the World Cup later this year.

Wollacott was brilliant against Nigeria, making some key saves and he is likely to be the first choice for Ghana at the World Cup after establishing himself for his country.

Ever since earning his first call-up earlier this season, Wollacott has proven himself on the world stage and has turned in a number of impressive performances for Ghana.

As a result, he became his country's No. 1 Goalkeeper and played a key role throughout World Cup qualifying, culminating in arguably the peak of his young career so far tonight.

Everyone at Swindon Town Football Club would like to congratulate both Jojo Wollacott and Ghana on qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup - we can't wait to watch you on the biggest stage later this year!
