Pre-match events...

With Remembrance Day this week, Swindon Town Football Club is recognising all the loyal servicemen and women across our armed forces, both currently serving and veterans, for the dedication, bravery and honour they have given to our country.

This afternoon will see us pay our respects to those who have died in wars around the world, with several themed activities taking place in the build-up to today’s match.

We’ve also issued discounted tickets and money off food and drink for military personnel past and present so we can say thank you for all they have done.

Remembrance Day marks the date World War One ended, at 11am on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, back in 1918.

We’ll have a host of activities taking place ahead of kick off, starting off with our Chief Executive, Rob Angus, who will be signing the armed forces covenant at the County Ground before the game.

This is our pledge as a football club to work alongside and support those who proudly protect our nation both locally and nationally.

The covenant shows a commitment that together, we acknowledge and understand those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.

We’ll have military personnel marching out of the tunnel alongside the players ahead of 3pm, where they’ll lay wreaths and ask supporters of both clubs to join them in paying tribute.

A bugler will then play the Last Post ahead of a minutes silence on the referees whistle.

Please join us today to mark the occasion as we look to bring everyone together at SN1 to pay our respects.

Half-time and events...

At half-time today, we have our Under-9 Boys & Under-11 girls coming up against each other on the County Ground turf in a mixed game.

Fundraising...

The Swindon Food Collective will be bucket collecting today. They are an independent charity that aims to help people across the town and surrounding area who are suffering from financial hardship and finding it difficult to provide food for themselves, their family or dependants.

The local foodbank benefited from the monies raised with the GoFundMe page in trying to locate ‘Joe’ the Harry McKirdy fan.

If you can, please spare any loose change you might have for the cause, and thank you.

Car parking...

  • There will be NO parking available on the day at The County Ground.

As usual, we’ll have several customer care stewards and some friendly faces around the ground to help and assist you should you need anything.

We look forward to seeing you.
