October Advisory Board minutes now available

All the key points from our latest meeting…

10 October 2022

Swindon Town Football Club can now make public the minutes from the October Advisory Board meeting, which was hosted at The County Ground earlier this month.

Several key points were discussed, including:

  • The long term debenture debt of £2.95million secured against the club has now been repaid by owner Clem Morfuni.
  • The historic external debt have now reduced from £7.5million to £1million under Clem’s ownership.
  • Plans to buy The County Ground are moving at pace with the exchange due by the end of January and discussions on funding it’s purchase by The Nigel Eady Trust Fund are progressing well.
  • The integration of STFC Women’s Team are progressing well with their FA Cup game against Paulton Rovers on Saturday 22 October (kick off at 5.45pm) taking place at The County Ground after the men’s fixture against Hartlepool United. All who buy tickets for the men’s game will gain entry for the FA Cup clash, and we are aiming to achieve a record attendance at this stage of the competition.
  • Clem is keen to work with supporter groups to drive a better atmosphere at The County Ground and get behind the team more with visions of making SN1 a ‘fortress’ once again.
  • STFC, TrustSTFC and OSC noted their support for the Crouch Review and independent regulation for English Football
  • Improvements to STFC Corporate WiFi have now made (thanks to Verelogic and Allied Telesis). These improvements will help STFC drive more revenue from conferencing and catering sales on non-match days.
  • Positive feedback has been received on The Fans Forum held at the end of last month with more than 200 fans in attendance and more than 5,000 views online thanks to support from The Sir Tom Broadbent Lounge.

These were just some of the many topics discussed in the meeting, and fans can read the minutes in full by clicking here.

The sole purpose of the STFC Advisory Board is to meet monthly to review and assess the performance and strategic direction of the football club, and to ensure there is open, transparent and regular engagement on key matters impacting all aspects.

It also builds on the memorandum of understanding that was recently signed between Swindon Town and TrustSTFC, and it continues the commitment from the club to maintain open and honest engagement with its fanbase.

The STFC Advisory Board meets every month and there is an opportunity for fans to raise questions via TrustSTFC and the Supporters Club.

The Advisory Board meetings present an ideal opportunity for supporters to share feedback, ideas and suggestions to the club’s management team, so we encourage everyone to get in touch with either of the supporter groups.
