Women’s FA Cup to visit SN1 this weekend

Iconic trophy to take centre stage at The County Ground as part of our double-header…

18 October 2022

This Saturday’s double bill of footballing action at SN1 will have a slightly more unique feel as we prepare to welcome the official Vitality Women’s FA Cup trophy to The County Ground.

Our First-Team’s EFL Sky Bet League Two clash with Hartlepool United at 3pm will be closely followed by the visit of Paulton Rovers, as the Somerset outfit prepare to face Swindon Town Women at the same venue at 5.45pm.

The historic occasion marks the first time both a competitive men’s and women’s fixture has taken place at The County Ground in the same day.

We’ll be looking to use the action-packed day to bring the local community together to enjoy football here at SN1, while also recognising another giant step for our women’s team following their integration into day-to-day operations within the club.

The trophy will be arriving at the stadium with the Football Association and positioned outside our Club Shop from 1.30pm to 3pm, giving fans of all ages the chance to grab a photo.

We’ll then move it to the Legends Lounge at 4.30pm where it will sit until 5.20pm, ready for another brief trip to the players tunnel at 5.30pm in time for kick off.

Come and join us for the afternoon and experience something a little different at The County Ground.

If you haven’t yet had a chance to buy your match tickets for the Hartlepool game, you can do so in our Club Shop or online here.

Purchasing a ticket for the men’s game will entitle you to stay on for the women’s match afterwards. In addition, under-16 girls can enter for free with a paying adult (two free tickets per paying individual).

Admission to the women’s encounter is free, but we’ll be accepting any donations you can spare at the turnstiles which will be invested straight into James Lally’s side.
