Swindon Town youngster George Cowmeadow has agreed to join National League South side Slough Town on a short term loan deal, subject to FA approval.
The 18-year-old, who is yet to make a league appearance in the Town first-team, will head to Arbour Park for a month to gain some valuable game time as his development continues.
George joined Swindon Town back in 2014 after impressing in the youth ranks of the Procision Football Academy, and after taking part in the clubs pre-season preparations at the beginning of last season, earned himself his Town debut in an EFL Trophy group stage tie against Plymouth Argyle back in October 2021.
This term, the attacker has featured twice under current First-Team Head Coach, Scott Lindsey, in both the Carabao Cup exit to Walsall at the beginning of August and our Papa John’s Trophy group stage opener at home to Crystal Palace Under-21s.
He joins a Slough side currently sitting ninth in National League South with four wins from their opening nine matches, with all those victories coming in their last five games.
The Berkshire-based outfit, managed by duo Neil Baker and Jon Underwood, are back in action tomorrow afternoon, as they welcome Worthing in the FA Cup.
We’d like to wish George all the very best over the coming weeks, and look forward to monitoring his progress.
