Lewis Ward departs SN1…

Town goalkeeper joins Sutton United...

1 September 2022

Swindon Town goalkeeper Lewis Ward has left the football club to join fellow EFL Sky Bet League Two side, Sutton United.

The 25-year-old makes the switch to South London having made nine first team starts for Town since signing a one-year contract with us back in July 2021.

He made a memorable league debut at Forest Green Rovers back in October, keeping a clean sheet and saving a penalty.

He was also a key part of the Town side that narrowly missed out on a place at Wembley in the League Two Play-off Final, as he replaced the injured Jojo Wollacott between the sticks for the end of season run in, which saw us win our last four league games and our play-off semi-final first leg at home to Port Vale.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Lewis for his efforts during his time at The County Ground, and wish him all the best on his next challenge.
