22 September 2022

Swindon Town Football Club can now make public the minutes from the Advisory Board meeting for September, which was hosted at The County Ground earlier this month.

A number of key points were discussed, including:

  • Able/AC Sports winding up petition dealt with but Centerplate/Sodexo taking this petition on for a debt the club disputes in respect of the amount due.  STFC will continue to fight with next court date set for later in September.
  • Other legal issues are continuing to be dealt with from DPDS legal costs, Mercedes-Benz Finance – with a complaint made about their managing of the Hire Purchase Agreement CM inherited.
  • CM continuing to focus on building strong foundations with reducing debts and buying the County Ground with supporters
  • Debts have been reduced to c£1.1million.
  • New Commercial Manager, James Watts, is now in place who will help drive forwards commercial revenues with a range of sponsorship and partnership packages available.
  • Improvements to conferencing facilities underway thanks to support from Verelogic and Allied Telesis.  Sales Manager, Rachel Burt, is now looking to increase bookings for conferences, parties and hospitality sales.
  • Positive feedback from STFCW for their proposed game at Foundation Park.  The club is working more closely with STFCW and will continue to support them further.
  • OSC and the Trust have discussed the significant positives of the Advisory Board as we mark twelve months of these meetings, with the main points being the open and transparent nature of discussions, finance and business updates and responding to supporter feedback.

These were just some of the many topics discussed in the meeting, and fans can read the minutes in full by clicking here.

The sole purpose of the STFC Advisory Board is to meet monthly to review and assess the performance and strategic direction of the football club, and to ensure there is open, transparent and regular engagement on key matters impacting all aspects.

It also builds on the memorandum of understanding that was recently signed between Swindon Town and TrustSTFC, and it continues the commitment from the club to maintain open and honest engagement with its fanbase.

The STFC Advisory Board meets every month and there is an opportunity for fans to raise questions via TrustSTFC and the Supporters Club.

The Advisory Board meetings present an ideal opportunity for supporters to share feedback, ideas and suggestions to the club’s management team, so we encourage everyone to get in touch with either of the supporter groups.
