Swindon Town have completed the signing of former Tottenham Hotspur right-back Marcel Lavinier.
The 21-year-old defender spent thirteen years in the Chelsea Academy before heading across the capital to join Spurs in 2020.
He went on to make his first-team debut for the club back in February last year in a Europa League, Round of 32, second-leg tie, against Austrian side Wolfsberger AC, coming on as a substitute in a 4-0 win.
Lavinier has also represented England at youth level, making a combined five appearances for the Under-16s and Under-17s between 2015 and 2016.
Speaking to Town’s Media Team after sealing his move, the youngster, said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be here and I’m really looking forward to the opportunity. I had a really good chat with the manager upon joining the club and this is a really exciting project to be a part of.
“I knew as soon as I’d spoken to Scott and his team this was where I wanted to play my football and it’s the ideal place for me to showcase what I can do.”
Town First-Team Head Coach, Scott Lindsey, said: “Having Marcel on board is fantastic for the football club and I’m really looking forward to seeing him in a Swindon shirt.
“He a product of a great footballing academy, is a good age and an all-round quality player, so it’s great that he sees the next steps of his career with us here at SN1.”
Town’s Technical Director, Sandro Di Michele, said: “Marcel is a fantastic signing for us and is exactly the profile of player we want at this football club.
“He’s a young attacking full back with superb pedigree having spent time at Chelsea and Spurs.
“He handles the ball brilliantly, has incredible energy and will be a real asset for us moving forward. I’m incredibly excited to see him play in a Swindon Town shirt.”
