Sir Seton Wills Tribute

There will be a minute's silence and black armbands worn for today's fixture

26 August 2023

Town supporters, please join us for a minute’s silence before kick-off at the County Ground this afternoon, as we pay tribute to lifelong supporter and former director, Sir Seton Wills who sadly lost his battle with cancer aged 83.

Sir Seton was a huge sports fan from an early age and grew up with an affinity for Swindon Town, often spending his Saturdays watching the team from the Town End.

Against the advice of his peers, Sir Seton answered a call to arms to help rebuild the Club’s board in 1991, following the troubles that had engulfed promotion and subsequent demotion from the top flight the year before.

The club leant on his support on countless occasions between 1991 and 2007.

Town players will today wear black armbands in remembrance.

Please join us before today’s game against Crawley Town to pay tribute to a truly lovely and kind man, who this Club will forever be grateful to.
