Loan move for George Cowmeadow

Young forward heads to Poole Town on one month deal…

14 February 2023

Swindon Town can today confirm young forward George Cowmeadow has joined Poole Town on a one-month loan deal, subject to EFL approval.

The 19-year-old has found first-team opportunities hard to come by this season, making just two first-team appearances so far this term.

He’ll now spend the next four weeks playing his football at Tatnam under Tom Killick, whose side ply their trade in the Southern League Premier Division South.

The Welshman joined Swindon Town back in 2014 after impressing in the youth ranks of the Procision Football Academy, earning himself a pro deal at the County Ground after a successful pre-season with the club at the beginning of last term.

He joined National League South outfit Slough Town on loan back in September, before going on to feature for Southern League Division One Central outfit, Kidlington, for a month in December.

Poole Town, who once had a certain Charlie Austin in their ranks, are currently fifth in their respective league and chasing promotion, ending a run of three games without a victory at the weekend with a 3-2 away win at Yate Town.

We’d like to wish George all the very best for his spell in Dorset, and the club will be monitoring his progress closely.
