Frazer Blake-Tracy makes Town switch permanent

Defender pens new deal at the County Ground…

Swindon Town have made versatile defender Frazer Blake-Tracy’s loan switch from Burton Albion permanent for an undisclosed fee, subject to EFL approval.

The 27-year-old, who joined The Robins on a sixth month deal back in August, has agreed a contract at the County Ground which will keep him here until June 2024.

Having started his football career in non-league, Blake-Tracy made 46 appearances for Dereham Town during the 2015/16 season before heading to Ryman Premier Division side Lowestoft Town in July 2016.

In the summer of 2017, he moved onto King’s Lynn, where he was two short of making 100 appearances for the club.

In July 2019, Blake-Tracy was snapped up by Peterborough United while in League One, signing a two-year deal with The Posh and making 24 starts under Darren Ferguson.

Following his release in June last year, Burton Albion announced his signature, and he’s appeared seven times for The Brewers.

With lots of reported interest in his services after an impressive campaign for Town, where he’s made 24 league appearances to date, scoring a memorable goal against Stockport County back in August, he’s decided to extend his stay in Wiltshire.

Technical Director, Sandro Di Michele, said: “We’re incredibly happy to have Frazer commit his future to the club, and this is a really positive signing for us.

“He’s a fantastic leader both on and off the pitch and lives the values we set each day with a great work ethic.

“He’s also been one of our standout performers this term, and I’m delighted fans will be seeing more of him in a Town shirt.”

Frazer added: “I’m absolutely delighted to sign a permanent deal here. It’s been a hectic month but I’m really grateful for the opportunity to stay.

“It’s been quite an uncertain time for me, but I’ve really felt at home here, and I can’t wait to move forward knowing I’m staying for the long term, where I can focus on continuing to do my best for this great club.”
