Swindon Town Women are delighted to announce that long-serving midfielder Helena Diaz-Butcher has committed to the club ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Diaz-Butcher, a nominee for Swindon Town Women’s 2022/23 player of the season, said, “I feel so happy to re-sign with the club! I’ve been here since I was 16 years old and I still feel the same happiness signing on each year.

“It’s been great!” said Diaz-Butcher on pre-season under new manager Mike Cook.

“Mike is very professional and knows his stuff. I like how honest he is, it shows he really cares and just wants the best from us . I think we will do really well under him this season.

“I’m so excited for the upcoming season,” said the midfielder.

“The team is a lot different than last season but I’m looking forward to the challenge and hopefully competing for promotion with my new teammates.”

Swindon Town Women manager Mike Cook said, “It’s excellent news for the club.

“Helena has proven to be an exciting player to watch, with her speed a major attribute for this level of football.”
