Swindon Town Women are delighted to announce the signing of defender Sophie Greenslade on a two-year contract, subject to FA approval.
The 16-year-old had her first taste of adults football last campaign with Portishead Town Football Club, a club she grew up captaining with their Girls team and featured in their boys side too.
The defender also grew up playing for Gloucestershire ACC, where she spent four years of her footballing career and Greenslade can play in the centre or left of a defence.
Swindon Town Women’s Manager, Mike Cook said: “For 16-years-old, Sophie is a young defender and has got a lot of ability on the ball and with her height and physicality will prove difficult for opposing teams this season.”
Upon joining the club, Sophie said: “Joining Swindon Town feels like a massive opportunity for me to reach my full potential and I’m really excited to get going.”
“All of the conversations I’ve had with Mike [Cook] has really helped, as he has a wealth of experience and I really trust he’ll do the very best for me.”
