Match Preview: Liskeard Athletic vs Swindon Town Women (FA Cup)

Town hit the road for the FA Cup third round qualifier

20 October 2023

Kick-off is at 2pm away from home and Town will be looking to bounce back from Sunday’s defeat, with a change in competition and a journey to Liskeard awaiting Swindon this weekend in the third qualifying round of the Women's FA Cup.

Swindon comes into this game with the more favoured form as, Liskeard Athletic Ladies have had a tricky start to their league campaign, with a form record of three wins and four losses in their first seven games in the South West Regional Women’s Football League.

Town ended their four-game win streak last Sunday against AFC Bournemouth in the league but their record in the FA Cup is one to look out for.

Captain Georgia Clifford has been a key player in the Town squad, after securing her third goal last week in three consecutive games and will be looking to cause a threat in this FA Cup fixture.

The Reds will be on the lookout for Liskeard’s number 12 Samantha Metters, with a good start to the season after securing five goals so far this season.

Town will take their recent defeat last week as a big learning opportunity for the whole team as they look to produce a successful performance against Liskeard this weekend.
