Goalkeeper Lewis Ward has left the club

Goalkeeper departs the club

18 January 2024

Swindon Town Football Club can confirm goalkeeper Lewis Ward has left the club.

The 26-year-old signed for the club for the second time back in August last year, whilst also taking up the role within the club's academy as Youth Development Phase Lead Coach, with Ward now leaving both positions at the club following this decision.

With the goalkeeper leaving his Youth Development Phase Lead Coach role at Swindon, this position has now been taken on by fellow former player Danny Rose, who we will soon catch up with to discuss his new role.

Ward made eight appearances during his second spell across both the league and EFL Trophy and made a key contribution with a last-minute penalty save against Forest Green back in December.

Swindon Town Football Club would like to thank Lewis for his efforts this season and wish him the very best going forward.
