Swindon Town winger Sean McGurk has agreed a new contract at the club, subject to EFL approval.

The 21-year-old joined the club on the final day of the January transfer window and will now continue his stay in SN1 after impressing in the second half of the 23/24 season.

A bright spark in Town's attack since his arrival, McGurk showed his ability with stunning efforts against Gillingham away and Tranmere at home as the young forward now looks to build on his first few months playing in the EFL, with his first full season at Swindon Town in 24/25.

After strong showings within the youth systems at Leeds United and Wigan Athletic that enticed Town to sign him back in January, McGurk is excited by the new season.

Upon signing a new contract with Swindon, Sean McGurk said: "Delighted to have signed a new deal with the club and to be honest I've been in constant conversation since the end of last season."

"I've been in conversation with Jamie Russell and the new Manager, and they've both shown and described to me how they see my role at Swindon Town, and moving into next season I want to get more goals and assists and create more of those moments from last season."

Head of Football, Jamie Russell also explained: "Sean is a maverick with fantastic technical ability, allowing him to manipulate the ball in tight situations. As a player, Sean relishes 1v1 duels and opportunities to score in and around the box, like last season with his goal against Tranmere."

"With a full pre-season under his belt, Sean has the potential to go on and excite fans and help score goals and get assists."
