Town Boss Dave Flitcroft finally got his man when he was able to sway Chris Hussey to The Energy Check County Ground in July 2017.
The attacking left-back arrived on a season-long loan from Sheffield United and the transfer represented quite a coup for The Reds.
Born in London, the 29-year-old began his career with AFC Wimbledon before joining forces with Coventry City in 2010.
He would go on to make a half century of appearances for The Sky Blues before opting to join Burton Albion in 2013 following a brief return to AFC Wimbledon.
However, it was his move to Bury which really sparked Hussey's career into life as he played a key role to help fire The Shakers to promotion to League One.
Hussey worked with Dave Flitcroft at Gigg Lane and the two enjoyed great success together, with the left-back contributing 17 assists from defence in League One.
That sparkling form persuaded Sheffield United to bring Hussey to Bramall Lane in the summer of 2016, and he was part of the side that cruised to the League One Title.
Hussey's attacking prowess was certainly evident in the opening months of the 2017/18 campaign as he contributed a number of assists for The Reds.
However, he is currently recovering from surgery having struggled with injury for much of this term.
