Swindon town secured the signature of Ronan Darcy from Bolton Wanderers in July 2022.
The 21-year-old has penned a two-year contract at SN1, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2024.
The Ormskirk-born midfielder has been in the Wanderers ranks since the age of 9, making his first-team debut in May 2019 in their final league game of the season away at Nottingham Forest.
After some impressive performances, Darcy’s scholarship contract was extended at The University of Bolton Stadium by a further year, where he went on to appear 22 times during the 2019/20 season, scoring his first league goal against Lincoln City.
Despite Bolton’s relegation that campaign, he signed an extended two-year deal with the club and appeared in a further 11 matches to help his side gain an immediate return to League One the following season.
Subsequent loan moves to Norwegian side Sogndal and Queen’s Park in the Scottish League One ensued, before Swindon showed interest at the beginning of this season.
Darcy initially joined Town on trial and has appeared in all three of our pre-season friendly matches so far.
