Town Head Coach Luke Williams is refusing to take any notice of Bolton Wanderers’ recent poor form and is still expecting his side to be faced with the toughest of tests at The County Ground tomorrow (1pm Kick-Off).
The Trotters, who are plying their trade in League One for the first time since 1993, got off to a flyer this season having won four out of five and finishing the month of August unbeaten.
However, Phil Parkinson’s side have failed to record a victory in their last six league games, although they did defeat Blackpool 1-0 in the Checkatrade Trophy in midweek.
But despite Bolton’s recent struggles, Williams knows full well that his charges will have to be at their best in order to get anything out of tomorrow’s game.
“I don’t think it is a good time to be playing them because they will be working hard to put it right and you don’t want to be the team who play them when they get their act together,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.
“They are obviously a very well equipped team and there are a few things that they probably need to work on and they would have looked at over the last few weeks, and at some point they will be hoping the penny drops in a similar way to us.
“I think they are very capable of doing many things and one of those things is beating you up, but I’ve seen some video of them and they are very capable of moving the ball about as well.
“They’ve got players in that squad who are very well equipped to do things on their own so it is going to be a tough game.
“With Phil (Parkinson) there they are going to be pumped for the game, they are going to be well-drilled and they are going to be very well organised.
“We’re not going to take anything for granted.
“Both teams are going to be desperate for that first goal and that could have a huge effect on the rest of the game.
“You want to play against these sides because I can remember clearly watching Bolton as a steady Premier League side, which seems incredible now.
“They are still a huge club with a great history and a very strong recent history as well, so it is a game that you look at and you look forward to playing.”
