Ladies Host Cheltenham On Sunday

5 March 2015

SWINDON Town play their last home FA Women’s Premier League Division One South West on Sunday when they face Cheltenham Town. When the two sides met in September the Town won by four goals to one, writes Roger Reeves.

Beth Thompson. Ellie Maynard, Meg Vella and fullback Lisa Coe all got on the score sheet to give the Town the points. Cheltenham, who were promoted from the South West Regional League last season, are at present in eighth place with eight points from twelve outings

Manager Steve Robertson said: "We were disappointed to drops points last weekend against Chichester City but, at the end of the day, a draw was probably a fair result. I think that we suffered from the long lay-off from competitive games. Our cause, however, was helped by our nearest challengers, Forest Green Rovers and Exeter City both losing. Everyone is keen to get back to winning ways and to finish our home fixtures with a victory."

Chyna Collings has not recovered from her ankle injury and with Alice Smith not available the Town have almost a full squad to select from.

SQUAD: Robyn Levett, ,  Beth Thompson, Lisa Coe, Sam Quinn, Ellie Maynard, Meg Vella,  Laura Morgan, Sarah Uzzell, Serena Smith, Rachel Rutherford, Megan Attenborough, Kelly Nightingale, Chenise Austin & Sally Butterfield.

Sunday’s game will be played at Fairford Town FC, Cinder Lane, Fairford, Glos GL7 4AX and will Kick off at 2pm.
