Ling On Team Selection Against Walsall

24 November 2015

DRISSA Traore will miss this evening’s clash with Walsall with a groin injury, Martin Ling has revealed.

Speaking ahead of tonight's match, the Town boss told the official website that he'll have another difficult decision to make regarding the loanees available to him against the Saddlers.

“Jordan Williams and Kevin Stewart are still missing,” he said. “Stewart is about two/three weeks away I understand and Williams has had a setback with his injury so that’s longer term. Drissa Traore will miss tonight but will hopefully be fit for the weekend. It’s a groin problem but not a serious groin problem so we’re hoping he’ll be ok for Chesterfield.

“It’s an awkward one because I think all six (loaness) would be in the team and all six would definitely be in the 18. It was Louis Thompson who missed out on Saturday which was disappointing for him. We have to shuffle the pack again but the players have to be understanding - it was a problem that was put on my lap. If I say to a player ‘you should definitely be in the squad’ sometimes when a manager says that to you they don’t mean it but I can honestly say I do mean that. There’s not a lot I can do about it - we deal with it and move on to pick the team to put a good performance together against Walsall.”

“We had a positive day yesterday,” he added. “We’ve dissected the video. First half I thought was very even when I’ve looked back on it. Sometimes you get clouded views of how you’ve played but second half once the penalty goes in we crumble and that’s not good enough."
