Swindon Town

RIGHT to Dream produced a stunning display of attacking football to crush Swindon Town 8-1 in the Junior Section at a wet and windy Broughshane Playing Fields.

It was the English side who took the lead with just four minutes on the clock, Jayden Bogle collected the ball deep in the opposition half before confidently striding forward and unleashing a powerful effort from the edge of the area.  Unfortunately for the boys from Wiltshire, this was as good as it got as Right to Dream recovered from their slow start to dominate proceedings from here on in.

The African side equalised almost straight from the restart as a low cross from the left was converted with consummate ease by tall striker Kelvin Owusu Boateng.  Right to Dream then took the lead just four minutes later with almost a carbon copy of their first goal, this time dispatched by Isaac Atanga.

Swindon exerted a little spell of pressure as the first half wore on but the Africans weathered the storm and scored a third against the run of play, King Baidoo displaying excellent pace to burst clear and produce a controlled finish beyond the despairing Swindon goalkeeper.

Right to Dream stepped it up a gear in the second half and monopolised possession, adding a well taken fourth goal on 35 minutes.  A cross from the left was met on the half volley by Firas Kora before nestling into the bottom corner.  Isaac Atanga almost made it five moments later but chipped over the bar with the keeper well beaten before the fifth did arrive on 43 minutes, an exquisite 20 yard free kick dispatched into the top corner by Emmanuel Danso.

Kelvin Owusu Boateng headed over from Isaac Atanga’s inch perfect cross before making amends for his failure to hit the target barely a minute later when he pounced in the midst of a goalmouth scramble to score Right to Dream’s sixth of the afternoon on 48 minutes.  It should have been seven just three minutes later but after a stunning team move and finish the offside flag was raised to rule the effort out, when one less pass inside the box would have seen the goal stand.

The Right to Dream boys were not to be deterred and duly added a legitimate seventh on 52 minutes, a powerful daisy cutter effort from Modibo Diarrasouba which flew into the bottom corner beyond the reach of Swindon substitute goalkeeper Curtis Walker.  The African side’s eighth and final goal arrived with just two minutes left on the clock, King Baidoo rising well in the box to head home a cross from the left to complete an excellent afternoon’s work for his team and compound a miserable visit to Broughshane for Swindon Town.

Next up for Right to Dream is a trip to Coleraine Showgrounds to take on County Armagh kick off 1.30pm whilst Swindon Town are back in action against Liverpool in Portstewart at 6pm.
