Midfielder joins on dual registration from Forest Green Rovers Women

Swindon Town Women are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Hattie Jones from Forest Green Rovers.

The 26-year-old midfielder, who previously captained the Forest Green Rovers side will be looking to add her vast experience and leadership to the Town Women going forward this season

Jones is an impressive goal scorer, scoring 8 times in 18 appearances last season for Forest Green Rovers, where she met Richard Wood, current Swindon Town Women’s boss.

Since signing Jones, Wood said: “I’m excited to get Hattie involved with the group where I’m sure she is going to contribute and help us improve as we look to get better as a team.

“She is someone I know really well from my time at Forest Green, she is currently the captain and has natural leadership skills.

“She has a great personality and is a really good person, she will have no problem integrating into the squad.

“She has played Division 1 soccer over in the States so has excellent pedigree, she played exciting football, and she is going to provide increasing competition in the squad which is good.

“She’s got good experience and I think that’s going to be important for us that she can bring her leadership skills into the team as well.

“She does also have a good track record of scoring goals from midfield and so it's great for us to have another player that can contribute in that department.

"I'm just really looking forward to Hattie being involved with the team."

Upon signing for Swindon, Jones said: “Being Forest Green's captain it was quite a big step to come away and look at another club.

“I was quite confident in my ability there, hopefully, some of the goals I scored there, I can repeat here and have a positive impact.

“Rich was the assistant manager (at Forest Green Rovers) so we have worked quite closely for a year - year and a half and got on really well, I like the sort of coach that he is. I’m looking forward to working with him again.”
